Professional Experience
In 1993 Marty Miller joined the Office of Rural and Farmworker Housing (ORFH) as a Development Specialist, was promoted to the Director of Housing Development, and currently is the Executive Director overseeing development staff and activities around Washington. Previously he worked for an affordable housing nonprofit and an economic development nonprofit. Marty also worked on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C.Education
Marty grew up in Selah, Washington, received a Bachelor's degree from Whitworth College in Spokane, WA, and an M.S. in Economic Development from Eastern University in Philadelphia, PA.Further Information
Among his interests and professional development, Marty is a member of the National Rural Housing Coalition's Board of Directors and serves on their farm worker housing committee. He was recently on the Yakima Greenway Foundation Board of Directors, where he served on the Executive Committee and Chairs the Acquisition Committee. Marty currently Chairs the Finance Committee of Wesley United Methodist Church and volunteers with the Yakima Valley Habitat for Humanity and KYVE (local public television station). He has successfully completed the Multi-Family Housing Development Finance training, sponsored by the National Development Council. Marty is also a 1998 Leadership Yakima graduate, sponsored by the Greater Yakima Chamber of Commerce, and has completed the Master Watershed Steward program offered by the WSU Cooperative Extension of Yakima County.And, if none of that captures your interest, he always enjoys talking about fishing and old trucks.
